Three years ago I faced the inevitable choice of a life of medical experiments and doll checks to one spent keenly perusing a media degree. Since then it’s been a burning desire to create, and an unwavering optimism for the artistic potential of interactive narrative that drove me here, ambition intact. With a native appreciation of online play and networks I find myself increasingly trying to capture the white rabbit of subversive humour and instant attraction tattooed on the peachy buttock of a successful media operation. The wide range of skills I’ve amassed from weighty 3D animation to acting and sound design have done no harm in keeping the dream alive of a well valued place within the blooming organism of genuinely creative media.

| TITLE: | Ill Reality | |
| DESCRIPTION: | "Why are we still here?
I mean, scientifically speaking we should have all killed each other, starved or group overdosed a long time ago."
"The girl whispers in my ear, touching my soul…As turn to face her my heart sinks and my mind screams, because as my tears turn to fear as I realise once again, the girl is just another trip, and this Ill Reality is all we have." The main aim of the Ill Reality project has been to adapt a dystopian short story into the form of a 3d narrative-based computer game. One that evokes the impression of an alternate reality existing in ironic parallel to our own. As the player explores, fights and puzzle-solves through the game environment they unravel the central narrative reacting around the actions of Frank, the player character trying to clear his name by inspiring a local revolution. Whilst still advocating the cathartic desire for sheer game play, Ill Reality also attempts a further shift towards game as interactive story and performance. |
