Catherine Hurst

I'm one of the few girls that enjoys video games; racing.. shoot 'em ups.. i love them all! In the past three years I've used this to learn the science behind them and have a go at making my own. I've also developed a passion for art and design ranging from the static print based to the interactive; the more unconventional the better! I live my life behind a screen and couldn't imagine not doing something that I loved for a living. I'm totally addicted to Coronation Street and love nothing more than hanging out on the beach and having BBQs.

TITLE: Tête á Tête
DESCRIPTION: Tête á Tête is a website aimed at installing a passion for languages within Key Stage 3 students, by making French more interesting and more relevant to their age and lifestyle. This is done by incorporating the type of games websites that teenagers visit socially with French content to create fun Flash mini-games. The website also displays an RSS feed from an independent French site (http://www.drole.ch) which picks out a highlight four times a day of a French game, animation or joke. There are also links to some useful French resources, the ability to stream French radio from a widget (courtesy of LabPixies) and a choice of French podcasts to download. This creates a unique learning enivironment that teenagers will enjoy using and want to use in their free time.
